The former Mathadhipathi (head of the monastery) of Sree Vishnumaya Swami Temple was a great mentor and an eminent spiritual master who laid the foundation for the spiritual tradition of the Kanadikav Tharavadu with utmost sanctity. Leading this divine path of wisdom forward with great foresight, he was the first to recognize the yogic radiance blazing on the face of a little boy seven decades ago.
That divine boy he recognized back then later grew up through rigorous austerities and penance. Today, he is Brahmasree Dr. K. K. Vishnubharatheeya Swami, the current chief priest and Mathadhipathi of Sree Vishnumaya Swami Temple, Thrissur, who wipes the tears of tens of thousands of devotees arriving at Kanadikav and guides them on the right path.

The Kanadikavu is the most holy and ancient Vishnumaya Temple in the state of Kerala providing relief to sorrows and showering blessings and prosperity to all the devotees irrespective of cast, creed or religion. The all merciful and sympathetic Swamiji observes the temple rites strictly and leads his life as a ritualistic. Thousands of devotees visit this temple every day. After listening to the orders of Vishnumaya, the son of Mahadeva, (Chathan - Balasasthavu), they offer the remedial measures to overcome their personal sorrows as per the instructions of the Madathipathi and return home with a tranquil mind.
